Record Flattening Service

What is Vinyl Record flattening?
Record flattening is the process of using specially made equipment to slowly heat and press the vinyl back into shape without damaging the grooves.

This works on approximately 90% of records made.
It is designed to be used only on records that will not play because
of warp damage and are useless. Great for “bowl” warps, warps with a slight lift and very minor “finger” warps.

It will not work on Shellac (78’s), Records made from Styrene,
RCA Dynaflex records (they were never supposed to warp
anyway! yeah right) and some records made during the oil
shortages in 1972 and ’79 because of cheaper vinyl being
used by some companies.

If you have records in need of flattening bring them by and consult with one of
our staff.

Record flattening service is $20 per record. (LP or 45) it’s the same process and takes the same amount of time for either (minimum 4 hours)

Below is an example of a “finger” warped record that cannot be fixed, the vinyl has been stretched and will never go hack into a circular form.

These records have been flattened and repaired.
